It has been an exciting few days for the Linux and hosting communities, for Debian 13, codenamed “Trixie”, has been released as of August 9th, 2025.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Based on the Linux kernel 6.12 LTS series, Debian 13 gets three (3) years of standard support (i.e. bug fixes, stability improvements, features) and a further two (2) years on top of security updates, which, in Debian’s own words, is “not handled by the Debian Security and Release teams, but by a separate group of volunteers and companies”.\u00a0<\/p>
