If you're running cPanel and are attempting to install a Perl module via cPanel -> Software -> Perl Modules, you may run into an error similar to the below:
Skipping Broken CPAN mirror www.cpan.org

Checking C compiler....Could not locate an executable "gcc" binary....Done
** Unrecoverable Error **
The C compiler is not functional and auto repair failed.
Perl module installs require a working C compiler.
Please repair the C compiler and try again.
This generally happens if Compiler Access is disabled for your account.
If you have root access, simply navigate to WHM -> Security Center -> Compiler Access, and enable it for the cPanel user that you received the error for.
If you do not have root access (shared web hosting accounts will typically not have this), you will need to contact your host and request they enable it for you.
