WordPress Multisite (cPanel & Cloudflare)

Many of the tutorials we came across for setting up a WordPress multisite were either outdated, and/or did not cover it correctly when using WordPress, cPanel, Softaculous, and Cloudflare together. As such, it only feels right that we bright that gap!

For this tutorial, we’ll assume you’ve got a cPanel hosting account ready to go, with no data on it (or at least, in this guide, we’ll be working from a blank canvas).

First of all, set up your Cloudflare DNS configuration to match that in the screenshot below, making sure to fill in the IP address your hosting provider gave you in the “Content” field:

Next up, go to cPanel -> Domains -> Create A New Domain, and fill out the form as shown below. Make sure to replace “wordpresstest.xyz” with your actual domain name:

Next up, go to cPanel -> Software -> WordPress Manager by Softaculous, and click on “Install”:

Once you’ve clicked “Install”, a number of options will be shown. You do not need to change anything here unless you wish to, such as the Admin Username, Admin Password, etc.

When you’re happy, scroll down and click on “Install”.
