It has been an exciting few days for the Linux and hosting communities, for Debian 13, codenamed "Trixie", has been released as of August 9th, 2025.
Based on the Linux kernel 6.12 LTS series, Debian 13 gets three (3) years of standard support (i.e. bug fixes, stability improvements, features) and a further two (2) years on top of security updates, which, in Debian's own words, is "not handled by the Debian Security and Release teams, but by a separate group of volunteers and companies".
The release announcement can be found on Debian's website.
The good news for KVM VPS hosting customers at Ethernet Servers is that it is already available and tested on our platform (since August 10th, 2025). This includes both new customers and existing customers who signed up before this announcement.
If you are on the hunt for a KVM-powered VPS with the industry's much-loved "VirtFusion" control panel, look no further - we've plans in stock throughout the United States (Los Angeles and New Jersey) and Europe (Frankfurt, Germany). The setup process is quick and easy - you can have a Debian 13 VPS online in around 60 seconds!
